Bible Adventure

godly playAt Bible Adventure, children, Pre-school through grade 5 or 6 are invited to gather in a classroom beginning at 10:15 in the morning.  Parents and other adults are invited to gather with the children.

carole pick 11The morning begins with a song written especially for young worshipers.  One of the parish deacons leads a simplified Liturgy of the Word.  The Gospel readings are structured as paraphrases to allow the younger children who are not yet reading, to participate. The children and adults talk about the liturgy and then are invited to offer spontaneous intercessory prayers.  The Peace is exchanged and the children move to another classroom for “Godly Play”, an inter-age hands-on play approach to telling and retelling of Bible stories by using “manipulatives” – devices and illustrative tools designed to visually and tactically re-enforce the story. Finally the children join their families in the church for Holy Communion.

 Nursery Care

During the school year, child care is available for children, infants through 3 years old.
